"We Come Over"

Score Saves!
Welcome to my page!
I am a brown dog. Everyone has guesses as to what I am made up of. Since I was picked up off the streets in North Carolina, mom calls me a "Carolina Street Dog". She says I'm the only one in the world, and that makes me pretty special.

I came to Maryland to be an Assistance Dog with a group up here. Trouble is, as I grew up, my head got broader, my ears turned into "rose ears" and my muzzle stayed short and got thick. The Assistance Dog group is in a county with a Breed Ban. It was determined by the staff (including mom) that I was too bully to stay in the program, even though I was such a good boy, and loved everyone.

Mom took me instead of sending me back to the rescue in North Carolina. She said that I could learn to be a flyball dog. I didn't know what that was at first, but I'm finding out that it's lots of fun! She also said that I could be an ambassador for anti-BSL. I didn't know what that was either, but mom told me. BSL stands for Breed Specific Legislation. It is an awful thing that humans come up with when they get scared. Imagine being scared of me! According to mom, because of my looks, I could be targeted in counties or cities with pit bull bans or legislation. I could be made to wear muzzle, or be penned up all of the time, or even taken away from mom! What did I do wrong?

Mom has now taken up the cause, because she wants to protect good dogs like me. I said that I would make my webpage about BSL and what other people can do...and she thought that was a good idea. Mom said to remind everyone that it's not just about "pit bulls" that it's about all breeds and mixes...it can happen to any breed, so everyone should be against BSL. I know I am!

Your dog can be a Hero too!

Here's another way to help out and save lives! Have your dog become a blood donor! I just gave blood for the first time last month, and already I'm a hero! My blood was transported to an emergency clinic in NJ. My big brother Xander also gives blood, he's been doing it for years now!

We give blood to the Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank. For more information check out their website!
